More December Fun!

Image
We had a few challenges in a folder marked 12 Days of Yiffmas that actually weren't holiday related last year! Here's some of the pictures we took based on some furry art we liked ;) Silo putting me in my place...   Being a maid for JC...     And some other random pics!!!    Fun times all around ;)   Comment question of the day: what's your favorite kind of domination/submission play?

Recap period: 1940s

We got through the 1940s at last in our recap! This one felt even harder to get through than the 30s, even though there were probably more films we enjoyed. So, let's go through em all! 1940 - Black Friday: This was a gangster horror film with Karloff and Lugosi. Despite the big actors, it was definitely bottom of the barrel for these actors. Not worth the watch. 1941 - Telltale Heart: This was a short film. Not bad. At least it's to the point. But the Telltale films are so odd. They just have a weird dissonance with the original story. It's hard to get in the protagonist's head with these. 1942 - Mad Monster: A mad scientist plus wolfman film. Pretty bad. Not worth the watch. 1942 - Invisible Agent: One of the Invisible Man sequels we hadn't watched originally because it was too much of a spy movie. That said, Peter Lorre makes the film. It was cute in its own way. Not very horror, but again, it's cute. 1943 - Dead Men Walk: This is actually a surprisingly twi...

Recap period: 1930s

We trudged our way through more "missed" horror films of the 1930s, missed in the sense of, we missed them in our first run-through! Generally, we can see why we missed them. But some of them weren't bad! Won't do faves on these because they were generally not enjoyable haha. 1933 - Mystery of the Wax Museum: The two-tone technicolor was odd here. It might have been our only horror film like that. It was interesting seeing how this would inspire the later Vincent Price one. It felt like the Price one was a shot-for-shot. But because we had seen Price's first, this one just didn't feel that good. 1934 - The Tell-Tale Heart: For a Poe film, it's fairly mediocre. I would have expected a lot more Gothic imagery, but it just focuses more on the MC's madness. 1935 - Mark of the Vampire: Another Lugosi vampire film. It's all right, but I really loved the twist at the very end! Almost worth it just for that. 1935 - Mad Love: Easily one of my favorite Hand...

Recap period: 1910s-20s

As mentioned in the last post, we have gone back in time to catch up on some missed films. We really spread through the couple of missed films from the 1910s and 20s. We won't do favorites for these, but here's what we watched and what we thought! 1913: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: It was interesting seeing how Laemmle went from this to Universal. Like, you can see elements of this that are almost Universal-quality. Probably one of the better Jekyll and Hydes to see, at least from back then. 1913: Pit and the Pendulum: A Poe film we missed! Looks like it's mostly lost, but there's a fragment of it. I think it could have been interesting. But no way to know, I guess! 1913: The Student of Prague: So surreal seeing Paul Wegener's film debut here. He was so fucking young. It's an okay film. Very Satany. Of the three 1913 films we watched, probably my personal favorite. 1919: The Plague of Florence: This one bored the fuck out of me. Not worth a watch. 1921: Annabel Lee...
