Life updates!

Wow, it's been over a month since my last post! Sorry for the delay on that.

It has been such a crazy month. This past month, I've had to really buckle down on my own dissertation work. Basically, I've been having to write 15 pages a week on it. Writing is the easy part, but the research is the tough part. Because of the work load, I've been behind on editing (a novella called Bones, an anthology called Fantasy Before It Was Cool, another anthology Found Footage, another Howloween 2), anthology selection (Attack of the Killer ____), formatting (Beneath the Suit, Once A-Fawn a Time, and Pawly Love), horror movies, and even sex!

On top of it all, I've been working on wedding planning, a part-time job, teaching, and just trying to survive. I've heard some pretty big HIV news on my end. The Georgia Public Health Dept invited me to be next year's keynote speaker for World AIDS Day. My book, Blood Criminals, has been nominated by POZ Magazine to be Book of the Year! I'm just over the moon with how much my HIV work is getting out there. Just hoping it makes a difference for at least some people.

Amidst all of this, my partner, boyfriend, and fiance Sin has been doing everything he can to help me out. Makes me coffee every morning. Does most of the housework, including cleaning right now. On top of that, he's been handling his own press's editing projects, doing freelance writing, and being an amazing activist for BIPOC furry voices. He recently won the Oxfurred Comma Inclusivity Award, for which I'm super proud of him. I really look up to him for everything he manages to do.

He's been pretty hard on himself lately. With issues of body positivity, his unemployment status, and general bad feelings, it hasn't been easy on him. With my being overworked, I haven't exactly been the most supportive partner over the past month either.

But with the hill of the dissertation cresting this week, I'm looking forward to getting to spend more time with him. Have some erotic Halloween photos planned for next week! Going to watch aaaaall the horror movies next week, too. Plus, we have an escape room planned for some friends and us in our basement >:3

He doesn't know how lucky I am though. This month, I have felt like he has been cheering me on so much, and it's because of him that I've gotten to this point of the dissertation without tearing my hair out. Seeing all the work he's putting into his magazine is so energizing, and I've been honored to help him with it in whatever small ways I'm able.

All I've gotta say is, babe, I hope you know what you're getting yourself into with marrying me. I'm a mess of a person with a chaotic life, and I'm sorry I'm not always emotionally available because of my work. But I'm excited to finally be able to take a long break starting next week, and I'm thankful every day that you're such a part of my life. I'm so lucky to get to see the ways you're growing as a person. I get to see you shine from every angle and every inch.

I'm balls deep in love with you.

You're the world to me.

So, with that, I'm going to leave off here, but expect to see some spooky Halloween pics from us soon!

Comment question of the day: Anyone have any sexy Halloween plans (COVID permitting)?
